Recommended Home Schooling Guidelines
Summary
One of the main advantages of home schooling is that you are in control; you do the scheduling and you make the decisions. Home schooling is much less stressful than sending your children to public or private schools. More importantly, home schooling allows your family to put God first in your lives. It allows time for the experience of true family life, with plenty of extra time to enjoy each other's company.
Finally, home schooling allows the parents to claim the authority over their children, which is rightfully theirs. If your children attend public or private school, your authority and influence is often overshadowed by teachers, coaches, or others placed over your children.
With home schooling, you will teach your children the truths of the Catholic Faith. Your guidance will form their conscience; your ideas will educate their intellect; your training will strengthen their will and instill virtues; your example will inspire them to strive for holiness. You will be the one who leads them in their search for the Truth. Your parental love will be the cornerstone for all instruction.
